In a short time, esports has risen to prominence as one of the most thrilling forms of popular culture around the globe. While the question of whether or not esports qualify as “real” sports is still hotly debated, it’s clear that competitive gaming is here to stay and has the potential to rival more established competitions like football and basketball.

Many factors have contributed to esports’ rise to the level of a potential global powerhouse. It would appear that esports have something to teach traditional sports, from the dynamic roster of top game titles to the entertaining and irreverent antics of celebrity streamers. The ease with which one can participate in competitive video gaming is perhaps its greatest strength.

There are few roadblocks to enjoying the highest level of competitive gaming entertainment, whether participating in a League of Legends or Dota 2 or simply watching a professional CS: GO event. If esports games have figured out how to make themselves widely available, what can people teach traditional sports?

How To Play Esports at The Highest Level in A Simple and Easy Manner

Although both professional gamers and traditional sportspeople need to put in a lot of time and effort to reach the top, it is undeniable that being a top player is somewhat less challenging.

Top-tier esports gaming tournaments, such as the Premier League, can be entered by any player conveniently from their homes. Many of the most popular esports, such as League of Legends and Dota 2, is free to play. Many esports competitions have open qualifying so players can work through the elimination rounds and take on the industry’s best.

The advent of mobile esports online has also made the sport more accessible to a broader audience. In addition to expanding the demographic reach of the esports games phenomenon, the ease with which events like the Clash Royale World Finals can be accessed through a smartphone has also reduced the barriers to entry, such as the need for a personal computer or gaming console, for those who want to participate.

While it’s true that athletes in both esports online and more traditional sports tend to have brief careers, the fact that anyone can dive into competitive gaming without leaving their house speaks volumes in favor of esports games. As a result, whereas traditional sports like basketball have a set of requirements for the physicality of participants, it is evident that even the most giant couch potato has a roughly equal shot of becoming a future competitive gaming hero in the realm of esports.

Top Esports Events Available for Free Viewing

The explosive rise of esports on live streaming services is essential to any discussion of esports phenomena. Esports have made excellent use of the new broadcasting capabilities, whether it’s to watch a top esports gaming tournament on Twitch. tv or the Clash Royale World Finals on YouTube Gaming.

Initiatives like these provide a refreshing break from the norm in the sports world. For football fans in the United Kingdom, keeping up with the Premier League can be challenging without having to spend a fortune.

In contrast, esports fans can watch the newest matches from all around the world on their computers, smartphones, and tablets for free, thanks to services like Twitch and YouTube. To the point that in 2017, major esports events like The International, a Dota 2 competition, drew five million viewers, easily surpassing the audience for any traditional sporting event.

The Ease of esports – Leading the way to Accessibility

It’s also undeniable that esports coverage is often more interesting to watch than regular sports coverage. Unlike traditional sports broadcasters who dress like newsreaders and provide a very basic analysis of the games, esports commentators and announcers are typically younger and more casual than their viewers.

This irreverence may backfire, too, as countless instances have shown thanks to the bold statements and divisive views of prominent streamers. However, esports clearly has the upper hand when it comes to engaging an audience in a new and casual way. The feature to have a live chat with the casters makes the streaming very engaging and fun for everyone.

The attempts of traditional sports to stay up with this trend by making baby steps into the online realm and striving to make their broadcasting systems more participatory have been fascinating to watch. However, sports have a long way to go before they can compete with the ease of access provided by the competitive gaming industry. As long as the industry works together, the day will come when esports are available to everyone.

Many organizations in the esports industry like FanClash are working in the direction to make esports accessible to everyone. With such continued efforts we will find esports to be enjoyed by a much larger audience.
